What is Webmail Zone? [Haut]

Webmail Zone is an application that allows you to check your e-mails remotely, when you are away from your home or office. You can read and respond to your messages without having to connect to your personal or business e-mail client, such as Outlook.

Can I use Webmail Zone with any browser? [Haut]

For an optimum experience, we suggest using the Webmail Zone application with the most recent versions of the main browsers (eg. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari).

Who is Webmail Zone for? [Haut]

The Webmail Zone application is for all residential and business customers who have Internet access with Cablevision, NorthernTel or Télébec.

Are there any charges when I use Webmail Zone? [Haut]

No. The Webmail Zone application is provided FREE OF CHARGE by Cablevision, NorthernTel and Télébec to all of its Internet customers.

How much storage is provided with Webmail Zone? [Haut]

There is no storage provided with the Webmail Zone application. It is a direct access to your mailbox on our servers. An e-mail client is required to check your e-mails like the one you have at home or at the office, or our Webmail Zone application.

Is my e-mail secure with Webmail Zone? [Haut]

Yes. The authentication process (user name and password) as well as the e-mail in the Webmail Zone application use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) with a 2048-bit encryption key to encrypt the data when you log in and also when you send and receive messages.

Is my e-mail protected from viruses with Webmail Zone? [Haut]

Yes. Your e-mails transit our servers BEFORE you read them using the Webmail Zone application or any other personal e-mail client that you may use at home or at the office (such as Outlook). In order to efficiently protect our customers' messages, we filter out viruses and all potentially malicious e-mails before they reach our servers. Any infected or unsolicited message is automatically destroyed, before it even reaches you.

Can I attach images or documents to my e-mail? [Haut]

Yes. You can include any kind of attachment with your e-mail.

If I delete a message in my Webmail Zone inbox, does it stay in the server so I can read it after in my Outlook Inbox (or other personal software) on my home or office computer? [Haut]

No. It is very important to know that any action performed on the messages in the Webmail Zone "Inbox" (for instance 'delete') is considered to have been performed directly on our e-mail server. For example, if you delete a message in the Webmail Zone "Inbox", that message is fully deleted on the Cablevision, NorthernTel or Télébec e-mail server. You should also know that if you read a new message in the Webmail Zone "Inbox", the message will not be marked as "read" when you open your personal e-mail client at home or at the office.

Why aren't the new messages in the "Inbox" identified in bold? [Haut]

The Webmail Zone application only displays messages that are in Cablevision, NorthernTel or Télébecís e-mail server Inbox; it does not manage the "read" or "unread" feature.

If I send a message with Webmail Zone, will I find this message in the "Sent Items" folder of my e-mail client when I arrive home or at the office? [Haut]

No. If you want to have access to this message from your e-mail client once you get to your home or office, you must add your e-mail address to the message's recipients list. Thus, you will receive your own copy of the message in the "Inbox" of your e-mail client (and by the same token, you will see it in the Webmail Zone "Inbox").

I am having a technical problem with Webmail Zone. Who should I contact? [Haut]

Please note that Cablevision, NorthernTel and Télébec are not responsible of any emails lost or damages that could be caused to your computer while using Webmail Zone application. The technical support of the Webmail Zone application provided by Cablevision, NorthernTel and Télébec is limited to the application only.
